Pre-MVP · Early pilot program

AI-assisted theft detection for the cameras you already have.

Apex is being built to help retail teams catch suspicious patterns sooner, build cleaner incident records, and document loss — without replacing your existing CCTV setup.

Shaping the MVP with feedback from independent retailers and store managers.

The problem

Retail theft is everywhere. The tools to catch it haven't kept up.

Most stores already have cameras. What they don't have is enough eyes on those cameras at the right moment — or a clean way to document what happened afterward.

No one can watch every camera

One clerk, eight feeds, a busy floor. Theft happens in the seconds nobody is looking.

Patterns get noticed too late

By the time staff connect the dots, the same person has been in three times.

Incident reports take forever

Scrubbing footage, writing summaries, exporting clips. It eats hours of a manager's week.

Repeat offenders go undocumented

Without a clean record, insurance claims, police reports, and bans are harder to defend.

What Apex does

A second set of eyes on the cameras you already run.

Apex is being designed as a quiet layer on top of existing CCTV — flagging risk, organizing incidents, and giving managers a clearer record of what actually happened.

Suspicious movement patterns

Lingering, returning, blocking sightlines. Apex looks for behavior, not just bodies in frame.

High-risk object interactions

Mark which products and shelves matter most. Apex pays closer attention to those zones.

Store-zone awareness

Define entrances, displays, fitting rooms, and blind spots. Each gets its own risk profile.

Incident summaries, on tap

Auto-drafted summaries for every flagged event — time, zone, confidence, and a clip reference.

Faster footage review

Skip straight to the moments that matter instead of scrubbing through hours of feed.

Cleaner records to share

Export-ready documentation for management, insurance, or police reporting workflows.

How it works

Three steps. No new hardware required.

The MVP is being designed around the cameras and footage stores already use day-to-day.

Step 01

Connect existing CCTV

Point Apex at your current camera feeds or upload recorded footage. No new hardware purchases.

01
Step 02

Define your store zones

Mark the entrance, the high-theft displays, the blind spots. Apex tunes its attention around them.

02
Step 03

Review alerts & summaries

See risk scores, watch the relevant clip, and export an incident summary in a few clicks.

03
Who it's for

Designed for stores with products on the floor.

Apex is being shaped first around the operators who feel theft most directly — independent and small-format retail. Larger multi-location workflows are on the roadmap.

01 / Indie retail

Independent stores

Owner-operators who can't staff a dedicated security person but still need a record of every incident.

02 / Apparel

Apparel & boutique

Fitting rooms, tag-swap patterns, and high-touch displays — places where small losses add up fast.

03 / Electronics

Electronics shops

High-ticket items, small footprint, and a real need for clean evidence after every flagged event.

04 / Convenience

Convenience & corner stores

Late-night shifts, a single clerk on the floor, and a constant stream of foot traffic to keep up with.

05 / Floor displays

High-theft product zones

Spirits, fragrance, infant formula, accessories — define them as zones and let Apex watch closer.

06 / Roadmap

Multi-location operators

Cross-store dashboards and shared incident records are on the roadmap once the single-store MVP lands.

MVP feature preview

What we're building first.

The pilot scope is intentionally narrow. These are the surfaces we're prioritizing for v0.1.

Live risk scoring

A confidence number on every flagged event so staff know what to look at first.

Object-level tracking

Tie alerts to the items that actually moved, not just the people in frame.

Behavior timeline

A scrubbable view of suspicious activity across the day, per zone.

Incident report builder

Auto-drafted summaries with clip references you can edit before sending out.

Loss estimate field

Attach an estimated dollar value to every incident for clean monthly totals.

Store-zone heatmap

See where flagged activity actually concentrates over a week or a month.

Staff review dashboard

A simple queue for managers: triage, dismiss, escalate, document.

Exportable report concept

One-page PDF/printable summary you can hand to insurance or law enforcement.

Pilot program

Help us shape the MVP — and get early access in return.

We're looking for retail operators willing to share what theft actually looks like in their store, sit through a couple of feedback calls, and try early workflows as they ship.

  • No commitment to deploy. We're at the conversation stage.
  • Free during the pilot — pricing comes later, with your input.
  • Direct line to the founder building this. Not a support queue.
  • Your feedback shapes what the v0.1 actually does.
We'll only use this to talk to you about the pilot.
You're on the pilot list. We'll reach out within a few business days to set up a short intro call. — Apex team
FAQ

Honest answers, while we're still building.

If something here doesn't match what you'd need from the pilot, tell us — that's the point.

Does Apex require new cameras?
No. The MVP is being designed around existing CCTV workflows. If your cameras already produce a feed or recordings, that's the starting point.
Is Apex available today?
Not yet. Apex is currently pre-MVP and being shaped through retail feedback. The pilot list is the way to be involved early and get access as soon as v0.1 is ready.
Is this replacing security guards or staff judgment?
No. Apex is designed to help teams review risk faster and document incidents more clearly. It's a tool for the people on the floor, not a replacement for them.
Can it generate police reports?
An exportable incident summary is a planned workflow concept — useful as a starting point for police, insurance, or internal records. It is not legal advice and does not file anything on your behalf.
What kind of stores is this for?
Independent and small-format retail first — apparel, electronics, convenience, and similar formats with products displayed on the floor. Multi-location operator workflows are on the roadmap.
How does the early pilot work?
It starts with a short intro call. We learn what theft actually looks like in your store, share where Apex is in development, and decide together if there's a fit. No commitment, no payment during the pilot.
